Spencer — Sadly our beloved Jessie left us unexpectedly on Sunday, October 2, 2016 after a long struggle with addiction. She leaves behind her two beautiful children Giovanni Taylor Garcia and Ava Gene Garcia who she loved so very much. She also leaves her mother Marion L. Desaulniers, her sister Rachel L. Desaulniers and her brother David W. Desaulniers. Her father, Eugene A. Desaulniers pre-deceased her in 2007. Jess loved her family “to the moon and back!” Jess also leaves behind her Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and many friends that she loved like family. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She was filled with kindness, generosity and love and anyone who met her could see and feel it. Jessica was also a talented musician, artist and naturalist. She loved to make dish gardens and fairy gardens to
give to friends and family. Jess’s passing has left a hole in all of our hearts that can never be filled. Even though she is gone, her light will shine on all of us to help us carry on in this world. She will be so sadly missed. The world has truly lost a beautiful soul. The family would like to suggest, in lieu of flowers, to please honor Jessica’s memory by donating to a cause that addresses the current epidemic of the disease of addiction. So much more research needs to take place to understand and treat addiction in order to free those who are in its horrible grip.

Angels Bio:

Kimberly Landon, daughter of Tim Landon, daughter of Jessica McConkey and sister of Samantha Landon, passed away May 17, 2016.

Behind her beautiful smile Kimberly hid a long and painful battle with an addiction to heroin.  In her heart she had wanted to quit and overcome the daily tortures but tragically the addiction would not let her.

As you can imagine the devastation to our family is beyond words. It’s a young life stolen away from us way too soon.

Now we are hit with the financial impact of trying to give our Kimberly a proper funeral. Those of you that have dealt with addiction know the unexpected financial hardship that  goes hand in hand with it. Its simply more than we as a family can handle at this time.

We are asking that you find it in your heart to help us give Kimberly a proper funeral that any parent would want for their child.

    “You Don’t Take Heroin
                                                        Heroin takes you”

With a great amount of humility we ask you to please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers through this difficult time.
God Bless,
The Landon Family

Angels Info

Name: Reghan Berry
Age: 22
Location: Greer, South Carolina
DOD: May 18, 2017

Angels Bio:

Reghan was born on Sept, 13, 1994 at Greenville Memorial. She attended Riverside Middle and High School. Reghan leaves behind her loving mother Jennifer and step dad Brian, as well as her biological father Rick Berry. She also leaves behind Jacob and Abigail Woodward, James and Wesley Woodard and Richie Berry, as well as, her maternal grandmother Marguerite Cannon, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Let’s continue to remember the Reghan we all knew and loved!

For many years she fought a heroic battle with addiction. She had been sober a little over two weeks but her disease still had a powerful hold on her. We wish she had recognized the beauty and strength that everyone else saw in her. It has been many long, hard, and agonizing battles for the last 4 years and she fought like a warrior every step of the way. Addiction, however, won the war. To the person who doesn’t understand addiction, she is just another statistic that chose to make a bad decision; a very uneducated statement indeed, but none the less that is what they will say, along with some other hurtful statements. We don’t care though, because for people who do understand, this is our baby, our oldest, our child, our daughter and my everything. She was a sister, a niece, a granddaughter, a friend, a cousin, a human being with an addiction. She turned to drugs to make her feel normal like everyone else. Heroin told her “I can make you feel accepted, I can make you feel alright, I can make you feel worthy, I can make you feel normal, I make you feel loved and I can make you feel nothing and make you feel like everything will be okay.” What it didn’t tell her was how it would devastate her family and tear it apart, take her job and leave her penniless, take her home and make her homeless. How it would take her sparkle and smile, how it would take her humor and how it would take and take and take until it took her life. We need to talk and educate the world about this epidemic. My prayers worked and my baby girl may not be here physically, but she is working miracles from Heaven. She could not make me more proud. I love you my Reghan girl. Shine down on all of us and keep working those miracles from Heaven. Reghan never judged a person in her life and opened up her heart to everyone.

A memorial service will be held at Mackey Mortuary, Greenville, SC on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 7:00 PM. Online guest registry at www.mackeymortuary.com
