OBITUARY:
Our beloved, Sean Anthony Laughlin, died January 29, 2018 as the result of an overdose. He was 23 years old. Because Sean and his family want to help others, they share his story. Sean was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 10, 1994. He attended Springfield High School and he also graduated in June of 2017 from The District 1199c Training Program with a certification in the pre-apprentice behavioral health program. Most recently, he was working on becoming a Direct Care Professional at JEVS Human Services. Sean was passionate about being of service to others and was looking forward to helping those with intellectual disabilities have a better quality of life. Sean enjoyed listening to and playing music, and he taught himself how to play the guitar. A fan of the Blues, he loved jamming out with his friends and recorded music under the name of Grandfather Moses. Sean played various sports throughout his life, and he especially enjoyed football, basketball and baseball. He will always be remembered for his ability to light up a room with his infectious smile, compassion, and his unapologetic authenticity, love to everyone, which radiated back to the lives he touched. He is survived by his beloved parents, Charles and Donna Laughlin and devoted sister, Brigit Laughlin. His Visitation will be Tuesday, February 6th at 9:30am in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 136 Saxer Ave, Springfield, PA 19064 followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:00am. Interment will be private.
