Sammy was my cousin but he was more like my brother! He was one of the funniest people I know! He had a huge heart and loved to travel the world. He was a ladies man and was great with kids. He had 2 young children of his own that he left behind along will countless family members that miss him dearly. He battled addiction for many years before he lost his battle. He had acquired septicemia (sepsis of the blood) from iv drug use. While detoxing in the hospital the sepsis went undetected and it took his life devastating many people. This year is the 10 year anniversary of his death and it still feels like yesterday…. I miss you Sammy Downes Rest in Heaven!
