OBITUARY:
BUCKLAND – Robert M. “”Robbie”” Schempp, 33, died Friday 11-20-15 in Greenfield. Born May 17, 1982 he was the son of Keith R. Schempp and Lisa J. (Breen) O’Gorman. Growing up in Buckland, he was educated in local schools.
Robbie had worked in construction and was accomplished in carpentry. He enjoyed NASCAR, UMASS basketball and hockey, and was a Dallas Cowboys’ fan. He enjoyed traveling to Boston Red Sox games. Spending time with his family, especially his daughters brought him true joy.
Survivors include, his daughters Madison A. and Rozalyn S. Schempp of Greenfield and Brenna Podwin of Vermont; father Keith and wife Carol of Buckland; mother Lisa and husband Dennis O’Gorman of Shelburne Falls; sisters: Andrea D. Schempp and husband Troy Davis of Shelburne Falls and Laura A. Schempp of Dorchester MA. Robbie also leaves his grandfather James Breen of Buckland, 7 nieces and nephews, several aunts and uncles including his Aunt Diane Breen who was very special to him. He leaves his cousins, Jeremy, Chris, Erin and Brandon McCloud, and many other cousins, as well his former wife Amy A. Armstrong of Greenfield.
Calling hours will be Saturday 11-28-15, 11 am to 1 pm at the Johnson Funeral Home, 104 Bridge St., Shelburne Falls. There will be a gathering after the calling hours at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 52 State St., Shelburne Falls. All are welcome to join the family there. Burial will be private for the family. Donations may be made in his memory for a scholarship fund for his children. Please send donations to any Greenfield Savings Bank for the Amy Armstrong Scholarship Account.
