OBITUARY:

Jaime Noelle (Rogers) Velarde was born December 4, 1976 in Hermiston OR to parents Harold Gene and Pat (Crosswhite) Rogers. Jaime relocated with her family to Milwaukie Oregon in 1988. Jaime was a beautiful, gifted and talented child enjoying basketball, gymnastics and dance team. However she excelled in softball as a first baseman and being coached to become a high school pitcher vying for sports scholarships. However, she developed emotional disorders which sadly led her to self-medicating via alcoholism and drug addictions issues, which eventually cut her promising life short.

Jaime dropped out of high school and began an unconventional life-style living on the streets in Clackamas OR in 1990. Jaime married Bruce Lee Velarde in 1996 and she delivered their son Justin Lee Velarde in 2000. Jaime gave custody of Justin to Bruce and they divorced in 2003.

Jaime began a long-term relationship with Edward Raymond Tope who fathered their daughter Breanna Rae (Rogers) Lena Toon prematurely in 2004. As Jaime and Ray were unable to provide for Beanna’s well-being whilst remaining homeless, they relinguished custody and she was adopted by Jaime’s cousin Trisha (Skei) Toon and Michael in 2005. Jaime and Ray toured the midwest and southwest for several years, before Jaime left him and returned to the Clackamas Oregon area in 2008. Jaime suffered serious domestic violence injuries, life-threatening homeless fights and finally became disabled from injecting heroin into the main nerve in her arm. Jaime passed peacefully September 19, 2010 in a dry tent curled up in a warm sleeping bag. We will miss Jaime’s free-spirited lifestyle and unconventional attitude but we rejoice in her soul being released where she will not suffer anymore. Jaime leaves behind, her two children whom she adored, along with her parents Harold Gene Rogers and Pat Crosswhite (Ben) Spencer, an older brother Thomas Cliff Hall whom she taunted, a younger sister Gina Brianne (Rogers) Jordan whom she mothered, her affectionate niece Kylee Brianne Jordan and her special friends Teri Gant and John. Services were held on September 23, 2010 at Lincoln Memorial Mortuary. Guestbook, memorial and photographs located within koin.mem.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations requested forwarded to The Father’s Heart Homeless Shelter, 8899 SE Jannsen Road, Clackamas OR 97015 www.tfhministries.com Arrangements under the direction of Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, Portland, OR.
