1 Girl Dead & Girls ages 15 and 16 found unresponsive

HOLLY HILL, Fla. – One girl is dead and two others are hospitalized after Holly Hill police say the three teens, ages 15 and 16, were found Tuesday night suffering from signs of an overdose.

Police and Fire Rescue responded to the 1600 block of Tuscaloosa Avenue, where the three girls were found, according to a news release.

All three girls were unresponsive and suffering symptoms of an unknown overdose, officials said. Police did not say what caused the symptoms.

Joanna Graveline identified her 15-year-old daughter, Corra Graveline as the teen who died. She went to Mainland High School, according to her mother.

Joanna Graveline said Corra was having a Friendsgiving gathering at their home when the incident happened. She said she stepped outside and came back in to find the girls had overdosed.

“I came outside to smoke a cigarette. I didn’t even get to sit down and one of the girls come running outside,” Graveline said. “I just screamed ’911,’ and I put the woman on speaker, and she said, ‘Do you know CPR?’ I said, ‘Yes, I used to be certified’ and she said, ‘Well, you need to get it together.’”

All three victims were taken to Halifax Health Medical Center and then transported to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando. One of the girls did not survive, police said.

“I’m just devastated. She was only 15 years old,” Graveline said.

The Holly Hill Police Department is working with the State Attorney’s Office and the Department of Children and Families to investigate the incident.

Officers could be seen collecting evidence outside the home Wednesday afternoon.

Graveline told News 6 she believes her daughter may have felt pressured.

She had a few words of advice for other parents following the death of her daughter.

“You need to be more aware of what your children are doing,” Graveline said.

At this time, no one has been charged.
